All you Ladies out there- Â it is imperative that I share just how IMPORTANT it is for you to be weight lifting. Â Trust me…you will not get BIG and MASCULINE unless that is your goal. So that cannot be your excuse. Â You will not get too muscular that you can’t fit in your favorite pants. Â In fact, you will fit better without that muffin top. Â And lastly, you will not gain tons of weight. Â You may gain more lean muscle mass, but the muscle you build will help burn fat quicker, so it should even out. If not make you lose weight.
So now that THAT is settled.  Here are the benefits of lifting weights… Can you tell that I am passionate about this? That is because I once believed those myths. But no longer.  I have been converted 🙂
– Lifting will increase your lean muscle mass. Â Then more muscle mass, the faster your metabolism will become. Â And that will lead to faster fat-burning. Bye-bye fat!
– With age, your body naturally loses muscle mass and replaces it with fat, which takes up more space than muscle. Â Which explains the expanding hips and the pants that seem to be shrinking. Â So steer clear of those fat invaders & maintain your muscle.
– Weight lifting and strength training helps prevent Osteoporosis and other degenerative changes. Â Think about it: the more stability that surrounds your bones and organs, the more protected they are! So you will be less prone to injuries.
– In addition, it will provide the many other health benefits that any EXERCISE in general is good for. Â Including heart health, memory, anxiety, mood, weight control, etc.
So don’t be afraid to stand next to those macho men at the gym. Â Even lifting your 5 pounds is better than not lifting at all. Â So hop to it!
