With over 5 years experience in exercise and Pilates, I am always developing new and exciting ideas for my clients. One style of Pilates I teach is choreographed to upbeat contemporary music which is a great cardiovascular challenge. Considering its success I have decided to build upon that. I call this workout HIIT-ilates because HIIT (high intensity interval training) has become my new favorite type of workout while training in the gym.  It is challenging, makes you feel like you are working hard, and is proven as a great way to burn body fat. By utilizing the HIIT method in combination with Pilates exercises, I am able to alternate between fast endurance exercises and slow core exercises allowing us the perfect balance. For this video, I have decided to do 30 second high intensity and 30 second low intensity to the song “Hello” by Karmin.  Therefore, it goes along with the music well because the change from the verse to chorus is distinct. Of course, exercising in unison with the music only makes life more fun and entertaining!
