Muscle Cramps

Woke up with a calf cramp last night, whoop whoop! Great way to get in the way of my precious sleep!

Does this happen to you often?

What happens is the muscle involuntarily contracts, usually due to dehydration or over-exertion.  It spasms because it does not have the fluid it needs to contract and relax. It occurs commonly when in hot weather or after flying.  It is often painful, so here are tips to help:

1) Massage it

2) Stretch it

3) Put some heat on it

4) Supplement with Potassium (Sweet Potato, Avocado, Beans, Salmon, Banana, Raisins), Magnesium (Spinach, Kale, Nuts, Fish), & Calcium (Cheese, Yogurt, Milk, Greens)

5) Hydrate well
