What is Meditation?
Meditation is a state of mind. It is not the act of sitting still and humming. It is a state of feeling at peace with a clear mind.
What are the Benefits?

- Reduced anxiety

- Decreased states of depression
How Can it be Done?
For most of us, it is difficult to sit still. We are always going going going. So meditation may be a difficult task to comprehend. Start small and slowly you will get more comfortable with it.
#1 Find a place to sit that is quiet and solitary
#2 Sit with legs crossed, hands (palms up) on knees, back straight, head tilted forward slightly
#3 Close your eyes
#4 Silence your mind & try not to think about anything
#5 Relax. Relax your body and your muscles. One way to do this is to contract and then relax each muscle group from your head to your toes. For example, shrug your shoulders up and then let them relax completely. Grip your hands tight and then let them relax completely. And so on…
But what if I get distracted and start thinking about too much?
Just re-focus. It will happen. So each time you catch yourself letting your thoughts begin to run, slow down and re-focus on a clear mind. Erase it!
Should I play music?
It is up to you. If you play music, choose something without lyrics that is quiet and calming.
Or you can sit in silence and focus more on your breathing. Inhale through the nose and exhale by blowing out the mouth.
